Miami-OH Lands 2003 Forward

Mike Price's Cincinnati Red AAU program recently won the state basketball title. As big an accomplishment as that is, it probably pales in comparison to your favorite school offering you a scholarship.

Van Buskirk Jumps On Miami-OH Offer

Eric Van Buskirk, a 6-8 power forward from Loveland (OH) High, recently made a decision. Van Buskirk is headed to Miami-OH.

"This was the first offer and it was the one he wanted," Cory Van Buskirk, Eric's father said. "He's been talking with them back and forth since February. He made it clear this was where he wanted to go."

Apparently, Ball State, Bowling Green, Kent State, Toledo and Butler had shown interest, but it Miami-OH who popped the offer on the table first. The school is just an hour away from his home.

"His brother and sister both went to Miami," Cory said. "He knew a lot about the school and fell in love with Charlie (Coles). He was thrilled to death."

Van Buskirk is an efficient player. He can face up and make jumpers but does a nice job in his power forward role. He's a fine catch for Miami-OH.
