Bennett Will Visit Kansas State

Good news travels fast. Jason Bennett, one of the top center prospects in America, will be on the move. He's already contemplating a visit to a certain Big 12 program.

Jason Bennett, Arlington Country Day's 7-foot-2 center, will make an official visit to Kansas State, his high school coach confirmed Thursday morning.

"I just spoke with the mother and Jason and he's going to take a visit to Kansas State," Rex Morgan told Scout.com. "His father just had back surgery today and he came out of it ok. I think in a day or so we'll decide when he's going to visit."

For those who might not be familiar with the situation, Bennett was ever-so-close to committing to Cincinnati when Bob Huggins was the coach of the Bearcats. Huggins, after resigning his positions at UC, continued his pursuit of Bennett, keeping in touch and watching the prospect play as he prepared for his next job.

Morgan indicated that distance was unlikely to be a factor with Bennett. "He was going to go to Cincinnati and he's considering Auburn. They're all not right around the corner. They're all pretty far."

Bennett, a defensive specialist who has improved his offensive game each season in high school, could be the first high-profile recruit of the Huggins Era in Manhattan.

"I think his issue will be the best place for him to win, get his education and prepare him for the NBA," Morgan said.
