Williams and Edwards

Two standouts from Los Angeles Price, shooting guard Derrick Williams and power forward Oscar Edwards, are getting solid recruiting looks early on...

Coach Mike Lynch from Los Angeles (Calif.) Price, said two of his rising seniors are getting some solid recruiting interest so far this spring and early summer.

Derrick Williams, 6-2 SG, who is an athletic slasher, is hearing from Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Portland, Nevada, Pacific and Montana.

Williams said he doesn't have "clear-cut" favorite and will almost certainly wait until fall to trim his list and make his choice. Williams has a 2.9 GPA, and is waiting on his June SAT score.

Williams has two AAU teams he could play for this summer, Belmont Shore, or a new team called Basketball I.Q. Both teams will attend the Las Vegas Big Time, and Williams plans to participate in both the Pump camp and the Full Court Press Camp.

Oscar Edwards, 6-5 PF, a skilled and burly post player with a developing touch from the outside, didn't hear from many schools early on, but his recruitment is picking up, according to Lynch. Santa Barbara, Portland and Charleston Southern have all called the school, asking about Edwards.

Two Ivies, Brown and Penn are also recruiting Edwards, who maintains a 3.7 GPA. He also is awaiting the results of his June SAT.

Edwards will play with one of the Rockfish teams this summer, which will take him to the Big Time, the Double Pump tournament and Full Court Press tournament.
