Final 2006 Rankings: West Coast Point Guards

The West Coast 2006 point guards are fairly good at the top, but drop off considerably after the top four to five. Our number one choice is headed to Washington...

The class of West Coast point guards for 2006 is about as shallow as
we've ever seen. Simply put, the position of point guard is becoming
something of an endangered species. Very few players understand how to play the position. Oliver is not a true one, but rather a shooting guard that we believe has a chance to play the one. He's a versatile guard who can score, but also has an excellent understanding of how to play the game. He's probably the best shooter on this list. Jasper is another player that isn't a true one, but he's got good size and his point guard skills have improved. He's a good athlete and his shot is getting better. Lawrence is one of the few point guards who truly gets it. He's our third ranked point guard mainly because of his great feel for the game. He's an old school point who runs a team and makes his teammates better. He's not the quickest guy, or the best shooter, but he does what has to be done for his team to win. Eatmon is another guy who isn't a natural one, buthe's got a very good body, with length and quickness, as well as a fairly shot to the stripe. He has a chance to be a very good defender. Lowenthal has good quickness and vision. He's an adequate shooter to three-point range, but he's one of the few true points in the class.
