Georgia Was First School To Call
Morris Almond enjoyed a fine spring and early summer run with the Georgia Stars on the AAU/traveling team circuit. The 6-5 small forward is athlete and scores. He's also a big time student with a high SAT.
"The phone has been ringing off the hook since the 21st," Willie Almond, Morris' father said. "His recruitment is going very well. The only thing is that he's going to have to decide is to narrow it down."
Almond's father said Georgia, Rice, Brown, Furman, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Penn State and Kent State are on him at this point. "He's looking at anybody that's looking at him," the father said. "He's got a lot of potential. He takes honors classes. He has 1,200 on the SAT."
"He has about three shoe boxes full of letters. As a matter of fact, he got a call 10 minutes after midnight on the night the coaches were allowed to call and it was from a prominent school saying they were going to be the first one to call him." That school was Georgia, but Almond wasn't awake.
