McMillan's Updated List

Jamelle McMillan, 6-2 JR PG Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea, is one of the top point guards in the west for 2007. Like his father, former pro Nate McMillan, Jamelle is a very good defender and he has an advanced feel for the game. With some improvement in his shot, he has a chance to play at a high level.

We spoke with McMillan recently and asked him for his current list of schools.

"Arizona State, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina State and Georgia Tech," said McMillan. "North Carolina State doesn't have a coach right now, but I talked with the AD there and I'm still interested."

McMillan told us that Arizona State and North Carolina State have offered scholarships at this time.

We asked McMillan what he is looking for in a school.

"Location doesn't really matter," said McMillan. "I'll go anywhere, to any conference. The coaching style, the city, the personnel and the style of play are things I'm looking at. I want to know about the guys I'd be playing with and what kind of role I'd have there."

When questioned about the timing of his decision, McMillan said, "Definitely before next season. It could be next month or two months from now. It depends on how I play and what comes my."

McMillan had previously scheduled an unofficial visit to Arizona State, but he decided to postpone the visit.

"The new staff just got there and I wanted to give them a chance to be there for awhile before I visit," said McMillan. "Herb Sendek is a great coach and he has a great staff. I'll visit there sometime in the next month or so."

McMillan said he has also talked with Virginia and Illinois about possibly taking unofficial visits. A good student, McMillan will have no problems qualifying.
