2008 Introduction: Corbin Moore

Corbin Moore, a 6-9 sophomore center from Southern California, is drawing early interest from some of the top programs in the west, as well as a Big East program...

Corbin Moore, 6-9 SO C Los Alamitos (Calif.) High, hasn't received much national hype yet, but we expect him to generate a lot of interest in July.

Moore has a good frame, very good feet and a nice skill set for a young big man. He's got a nice stroke out to about 17-19 feet and he's developing a low-post game. Moore plays with good energy and he's a solid defender/rebounder. He's among the top couple center prospects in the west for 2008 and, with continued development, he will play for a high major program in college.

We spoke with Moore recently and asked about the schools expressing early interest in him.

"UCLA has been in contact quite a bit -- I hear from Coach Keating a lot," said Moore. "Stanford and Arizona have also been contacting me and they want me to come to their camps. I'm also hearing from Notre Dame and Washington."

We asked Moore if he had a favorite program growing up.

"UCLA has pretty much been my favorite since I was a kid," said Moore." My Dad went there and my sister is a freshman there now. I'm going to UCLA's camp in June. If there is no conflict, I'll also go to Stanford or Arizona's camp."

When questioned about what he is looking for in a school, Moore replied, "The academics, the basketball program in general and the location. I'd rather stay in the west, but it doesn't necessarily have to be California."

Moore said he doesn't have a timeframe for making his decision.

"I haven't really thought about it much yet," said Moore.

Moore told us he had a 3.6 GPA in his first semester this year.
