Jenkins Picks Cardinals
"[Brandon Jenkins] just felt like he wanted to go to ABCD to be critiqued by Rick Pitino rather than be evaluated by him," Michigan Hurricanes head coach Chris Grier told TheInsidersHoops.com. Apparently, on the 4th of July, Jenkins made Louisville his college choice.
Jenkins had visited the Cardinals unofficially, officially and also conducted a school visit with them. Last week, he went to Louisville for camp. His commitment followed shortly thereafter. He's the heir to the guard slot that is to be vacated by Reece Gaines.
"They were in on him the longest," Grier said. "Louisville invested the most time and energy." Jenkins was also receiving heavy interest from Pittsburgh and Texas. Numerous other programs had made overtures.
"It was just the comfort level," Grier said. "They had committed the most to him."
Jenkins is the floor general for the Hurricanes. On a team traditionally loaded with high Division I players, he's entrusted with the responsibility of making everything go. He's athletic and can score. He ranked among our mid-summer Top 50 players in the nation.
