Richardson Getting Noticed

Brandon Richardson isn't well-known outside of Southern California, but college coaches have heard of him...

Brandon Richardson, 6-0 JR PG/SG Hawthorne (Calif.) High, isn't a true point guard, but he is a talented prospect with a good feel for the game. If Richardson can make the transition to the one, we believe he'll end up one of the better sleepers in the class. Richardson has a nice feel for the game and the ability to knock down shots from multiple spots on the court.

We spoke with Richardson recently and he gave us a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"Miami called my coach recently," said Richardson. "Utah, Georgia Tech, San Francisco, Loyola Marymount, Arizona State and Clemson haven been sending me stuff also."

Richardson said he hasn't had much contact with college coaches to this point.

"My high school coach has been handling it mostly," said Richardson.

We asked Richardson about the issues he'll consider when making his choice.

"The chemistry with the guys is the main thing," said Richardson. "Early playing time and location aren't a real big deal."

Richardson doesn't see himself choosing a school anytime soon.

"I'll probably wait until my senior season," said Richardson.
