Phil Jones: ``Still Open"

A recent report in the Indianapolis Star had Phil Jones signed, sealed and delivered for Indiana. The 6-foot-10 big man out of Brooklyn, N.Y., said that's not the case - evident by a pair of visits on the horizon.

Despite a recent story in the Indianapolis Star that had senior center Phil Jones signing with Kelvin Sampson and Indiana, the New York big man said he hasn't made a decision and will take at least two more visits in the next week.

``I'm not sure where it came from that I signed with Indiana, but that was wrong," said the 6-foot-10 Brooklyn native. "I'm still not sure where I am going."

Jones spent this past season at Laurinburg Institute (N.C.).

Jones has only taken one official visit – to Indiana. He visited Rutgers unofficially last week and plans to head to Seton Hall sometime this week for an official trip and then to UConn before making a decision.

``I'm wide open," Jones said. "I don't know how the newspaper had quotes from me when I never said those things."

``I'm still considering Indiana," he added. "It's a good school and a nice program."
