Many Options For Wiggins

Alan Wiggins, 6-7 SR PF San Diego (Calif.) Horizon Christian, has been among the more impressive four men this past week at the Pump and FullCourt Press Camps. We've spoken with easily a dozen coaches who have expressed interest in recruiting Wiggins.

We talked to Wiggins yesterday and learned that he's still wide open. New Mexico, San Diego, USF, Colorado St., Boise St., Fresno St. and Wyoming were the schools he mentioned, but he stressed that there are others as well.

We asked Wiggins if he'd decided which schools he would visit yet and he said, "I've been to San Diego. I'll definitely visit New Mexico and maybe USF. Other than that, I don't know."

Wiggins said a school with a strong business program would have an edge, as well as a team where he can get time as a freshman. He also told us that he'd prefer to go to the highest possible level and he wants to stay in the west.

Wiggins will play with Bellflower Hoops in the FullCourt Press Summer Shootout, which begins today, and then with IEBP at the Big Time and Best of Summer.

He told us that he has a 2.9 GPA and scored 930 on the SAT.
