Bowie, Maryland A Dream Come True!

Adrian Bowie has been on Maryland's campus so many times he probably can't count them all up. However, his trip to College Park on Friday was unlike any he's ever been on and it proved to be an important commute.

John Bowie, a former Maryland equipment guru, knows all about the Terrapins basketball program. For a good portion of his life he was involved in Terrapin athletics. Now, his journey has come full circle and it has to be quite the Father's Day present in the Bowie Household.

John's son Adrian Bowie, a slashing wing out of Montrose Christian in nearby Rockville has opted to become part of the Terps hoops program, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

"We just had a meeting set up for today and Coach Williams offers a scholarship," Bowie said. "So why wait?"

Exactly, why wait. Bowie will wear the Terps uniform in the fall of 2007.

The Triple Threat traveling team member, first realized he wanted to play for Williams ways back during a trip to the big island of Hawaii with the team when he father worked for the university.

"I'll play hard every game and defend. I'll do the little things."

And he'll do them playing for the team and the school he always wanted to represent. It doesn't get any better than that!
