Xavier Lands Point Forward
6-5 forward Justin Cage, a member of the No Excuses AAU program, committed to Xavier on Friday. Cage said that he knew a few weeks ago that he wanted to be a Musketeer.
"I pretty much know the staff," Cage said. "They are consistent. They are in it for the athletes and the basketball."
Cage said that Butler, Ball State and Memphis were some other schools that he liked in the end.
Cage is a unique talent. For a small forward, he has some point guard skills and the coaches at No Excuses and likely the Xavier staff, will allow him to utilize his ball handling skills within the offense.
In committing to Xavier, Cage becomes the third member of the Class of 2003 to enlist with the Musketeers. Already committed is small forward Justin Doellman and wing man Robert Barker.
Taking recruiting a step further, "X" holds a commitment from shooting guard Darryl Garrett, a member of the Class of 2004.
