Davidson Headed To The SEC

Jermareo Davidson has had a rough month. He injured his ankle the first day at Nike All-American Camp and missed the entire event. However, on Saturday his fortunes changed as he reached a decision to play college basketball at the highest level.

Alabama Lands Big Man

Jermareo Davidson, a 6-10 forward from Stone Mountain, Ga., committed to Mark Gottfried's Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. We think Davidson has the potential to crack our Top 50 prospects list, but for the time being he's on the injured reserve list, hoping to play next week at the Super Showcase.

Unfortunately, he injured his ankle the first day at Nike Camp. "Now that you mentioned [the [injury] it's starting to hurt," Davidson said. "It happened the first day."

Last year, Davidson averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds. He had high games of 25 points and 23 rebounds. This spring, he was all-tournament at the Southern Invitational, Atlanta Basketball Classic and Howard Pulley Invitational.

Alabama was the choice over Missouri, Georgia, Florida State and Clemson. "I liked it there," Davidson said. "I like the campus, the coaches and all of that. It really just felt like a second home. That's the place I wanted to be."
