Martin Rounds Out Purdue's Class

It's done. The Purdue Boilermakers are now sitting on one of the premier recruiting classes in the nation. Matt Painter's team received a commitment from a Top 50 player Friday afternoon, essentially completing a signature effort from the folks in West Lafayette.

The SYF Players, one of the top traveling teams of the past 2 seasons, have relocated. OK, not really but they might as well have.

Friday afternoon, Scott Martin committed to the Boilermakers giving Purdue its 4th Top 100 recruit and 3rd commitment from Wayne Brumm's SYF program this spring.

Martin, who had been thinking about Michigan, Indiana and a host of others, said he'd been feeling the Black and Gold for some time now.

"I've been leaning this way for quite a while and I had a good talk with Coach Painter and it became clear to me that this is where I want to be and this is where I want to go."

Martin is also the second player from Valparaiso (Ind.) High to pledge to Painter this spring. He joins high school and AAU teammate Robbie Hummel in the class. E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson are the other prospects. Moore also runs with SYF.

"It's going to be fun I think. We have real good chemistry right now and at some point it's only going to get better."

For the fans in West Lafayette, it just did.
