Big Get For San Diego

Robert Jones, an undersized power forward from Riordan High in San Francisco, is one of our favorite prospects from the class of 2006. Jones was drawing attetnion from schools all over the west, but he's now made a commitment to play in the WCC...

Robert Jones, 6-5 SR PF San Francisco (Calif.) Riordan, is one of the more underrated players in the country. Oustide of the west, nobody knows about Jones.

But plenty of West Coast coaches know about Jones, including San Diego's Brad Holland, who secured a commtiment from the talented forward last night, according to Jones' club coach (also named Robert Jones) with the Bay Area Hoosiers. We received the following in an email from Mr. Jones.

"He felt a very strong connection with the coaching staff and players. They were looking for a player that can have an immediate impact on their team, and Rob believes he can be that type of player.

He choose USD over St. Marys, LMU, Portland, UC Davis and UOP."

This should end up being a very sigificant pickup for the Toreros, as Jones has the talent to play at any level.
