Miller Brewing Up Final List

Maurice Miller is beginning to get a feel for who wants him. After a strong Nike Camp showing, the Memphis area point guard is sifting through the programs and determining which ones to visit officially.

Mo Miller's list has changed, but one school remains constant at or near the top.

The Raleigh Egypt (Tenn.) senior point guard has already set up an official visit to Georgia Tech for Sept. 2. The Yellow Jackets have been recruiting Miller for a while, but a couple of other schools have emerged in the past month or so.

Miller said that new Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy has been right there with Paul Hewitt in terms of how aggressive he's been in pursuit. Miller said he will take a visit to Mississippi either the weekend of Sept. 9 or Sept. 16 and may visit Virginia as well.

``I think Nike camp really helped me," Miller said. "I made the all-star game and proved I could play with a lot of people. After that, a lot of schools jumped in."

Miller also mentioned that LSU, Memphis, Oklahoma and Cincinnati are also in the mix.

``Georgia Tech and Mississippi have been at every one of my game's all summer," Miller said. "Not just the assistants, either."

Miller is a bright, articulate kid who knows exactly what he wants – and that's why he's not putting a timetable on when he'll make a decision.

``The school and the background are important," Miller said. "How I get along with the players and the coaches and the surroundings. All of the schools I listed are great schools for me, so it's a blessing for me to be able to go to college."

``If I go on a visit and feel at home and it's a place I want to be for four years, it'll end that day," Miller added.
