The St. Mary's (Ariz.) senior guard – who had opened up his recruitment after committing to the Wildcats in November – has reaffirmed his pledge to Lute Olson and the Arizona staff.
``I got time to look at it," Bayless told the Arizona Republic. "I didn't rush into it."
``As the summer went on he felt that home is where the heart is," St. Mary's coach David Lopez told Wildcat Insider.com. "I think Arizona has always been his top choice, he just needed to make sure."
Bayless was courted heavily by Texas, Georgia Tech, Washington and Kansas – among others. At one point in time, it appeared as though the Longhorns had the inside track. However, Bayless – who hinted of his desire to re-commit to Arizona in an interview with Scout.com in Las Vegas last month – has opted to play his college ball less than two hours down the road in Tucson.
``He just felt real sure and real confident," Lopez added.
Bayless is one of the top players in the country and is a huge key for Olson, assistant coach Josh Pastner and the rest of the staff.
He averaged 37.9 points, eight boards and 7.4 assists this past season.
With Jamelle Horne and Bayless, the Wildcats have two probable McDonald's All-Americans.
