"I've been talking to Coach Shyatt and Coach Donovan and Coach Jones," Parsons said. "They've been making good points. They were waiting to see how I developed. It's about me and not just me following Nick (Calathes) or anything like that. They say if you want to come here and commit, what's the point of waiting?"
Parsons admitted that a good trip to Gainesville this weekend and the chase would be over. However, he's not eliminating any possibilities before this weekend's visit.
"If it goes well and we talk face-to-face about how he sees me in his system … if I like what I hear I'll make a commitment. If not, they'll bring in some other guys and I'm going to see other things."
Parsons has already made his fall plans. Now, if he does commit this weekend, he'll visit the Gators officially the weekend of Sept. 9 when they bring in Patrick Patterson. If not, the contingencies have been arranged.
All of these plans are for naught if the Gators get it done this weekend and that's why the next few days are critical in Parson's recruitment. Otherwise, the prophecy rival assistants spun about Parsons and Florida during the month of July will come true and a pair of high school teammates will reunite in Gainesville. The potential for a commitment this weekend is on the table.
