Sean Marshall, 6-5 SR SF Rialto (Calif.) Eisenhower, has improved his outside shot in the last six months and that's made a major difference in his recruitment. Previously a target at primarily the low end of the high major level, Marshall is now hearing from a number of high major schools.
We spoke with Sean yesterday and he told us that he hopes to cut his list to six schools sometime next week. As of today, Sean says he's hearing from Washington, DePaul, UCLA, USC, Boston College, UMass, Oregon, Oregon St., Colorado and Utah.
Marshall says location is not an issue with him. We asked if his parents have a preference and Marshall said, "In the beginning, they wanted me to stay close. Now they just want me to choose the best school."
When questioned about the timing of his decision, Marshall responded, "I'd kind of like to get it out of the way soon."
Marshall told us that style of play is one factor he's considering. "I want to go to a place where they push the ball and I'll fit in. And I have to feel comfortable with the coaching staff. I would like to play early and be part of the team. But if I can't play early, I'll just work hard to get some minutes."
Marshall told us that he's already qualified, with a 3.4 GPA and a score of 880 on the SAT. He plans on taking the test again.
