Teague Makes Pick

Jeff Teague was a mid-major guy entering July, but all of that changed within a couple of days while at ABCD Camp. A few months later, he made the choice between the ACC and his home-state Indiana Hoosiers.

Jeff Teague is heading to the ACC.

The 6-foot-1 senior floor leader out of Pike High (Ind.) chose Wake Forest over home-state Indiana and Boston College at a news conference on Friday afternoon.

"I've been waiting for this day all my life," Teague said after his announcement. "I've always wanted to go to Wake Forest."

Teague's stock went through the roof with an impressive performance at the ABCD Camp in July – as he went from a mid-major guy to someone being pursued by numerous high-major schools.

Teague went from someone outside of the Top 100 to the No. 55 player in the Class of 2007.

``I think it's a great place for him," said Mike Conley Sr., who coached Teague in the summer with the Spiece Indy Heat. "It's a good situation."

Teague averaged 12.5 points and 4 assists last season and joins guys like Greg Oden, Mike Conley and Eric Gordon as in-state standouts who are leaving the state to play college ball.

Teague joins James Johnson, a forward out of Wyoming, as Wake Forest commits from the senior class.
