West Coast 2008 Rankings: Point Guards

After a down year in 2007 for point guards, the West Coast bounces back with an excellent crop in 2008. Larry Drew, Jerime Anderson and Malcolm Lee are at the top of a group that could end up as strong as any in recent years on the West Coast...

The 2008 class of West Coast point guards is very strong and features some of the top prospects in the country. In particular, the top three players on our list are each elite talents and you could make a case to put them in any order. For now, we'll go with Lee as our top rated point guard. While he's not as pure a one as some of the others, Lee has superior physical attributes and definitely has the highest upside of any guard on the list. Lee is also versatile and could end up playing shooting guard as well in college. Anderson has a chance to ultimately end up  as our top ranked point guard. He's an underrated athlete, a very good defender and his approach to the game is outstanding. Drew is the most polished player on our list and that's not surprsing, given the fact that his father was a pro. Drew has an excellent feel, with a very good handle and a nice shot to the stripe. We didn't see a lot of Kelley in the summer, but he was impressive in limited viewings. He's got good size and showed nice instincts. Sim has a very nice stroke and an excellent feel for the game. He could be a sleeper in this class.
