Corey Gibbs joined another forward over the weekend as the second player to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs this year. The three-time Atlanta Journal Constitution player of the week is staying home.

Corey Gibbs, a 6-6 power forward from Stone Mountain (GA) Redan, committed to Jim Harrick's Bulldogs program. In the end, he looked at UGA, Alabama, Cincinnati, Miami and Georgetown.

Gibbs' mother said the decision came after reflecting on the situation. "Prayer [helped]," Gibbs' mother said. "Corey had several different schools to choose from. We wanted to get the one that was right or that we thought would be right. I think he wanted to be a little closer to home."

Last year, Gibbs averaged 23 points a game at Pace Academy in Atlanta.

"Of course he had my blessing," Gibbs' mother said. "I felt pretty good about it too. We have family in Athens. We have a little heritage there. After weighing the options and looking at things it just felt right."
