Bell Makes Final Decision

Keegan Bell seemed destined to play his basketball in the SEC. The one-time Georgia commitment settled down and gave his word to another SEC squad this week.

To say that Keegan Bell knows the SEC would be a big time understatement. He's been recruiting by practically everyone in the league at one time or another. He first committed to Georgia but backed out this spring. Recently he trimmed his list to LSU, Mississippi and Vanderbilt.

After visiting the Commodores, Bell knew he'd found his home. The 25 point per game scorer and 11 assist man out of Hazel Green High is headed to Nashville.

"To tell you the truth, people say they go on visits and they know it," Bell said. "To tell you the truth the guys were just great and I really had a connection with the coaching staff."

Rated a Top 25 point guard nationally at his position, Bell is a nice score for Kevin Stallings and the staff. Vanderbilt has some big recruiting weekends on the docket as it searches for a forward to team Bell with. Josh Owens visits campus soon. Shooter Blake Hoffarber is down to three and Vandy is one of them.

Bell is jacked up about playing in what he calls the toughest building in the SEC. "I'm just proud to go to Vandy. Their style of play is great for me and it just felt right. I knew right away and I took a few days to think about it but I talked to my dad and he's been my high school coach for so long and his input is very important to me."
