Louisville Lands JC Big
The Louisville Cardinals landed a commitment on Tuesday. 6-10 big man Nouha Diakite, a native of Mali who spent time in France as well, committed to play for the Cardinals in the fall of 2003.
"He's going to be better as a junior and senior for them [than he was for us]," Barton County head coach Ryan Wolf said. "He's raw. He had a helluva [Mullen's] camp. He was probably the second best player there." Wolf is referencing Jerry Mullens' juco event held in July.
Wolf said that during the final three days of the evaluation period, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, St. Louis, Nebraska and DePaul sent assistants to watch him. "We had about 20 schools in to see him," Wolf said.
The Barton coach compared Diakite to former UCLA Bruin Jerome Moiso in that he can shoot the ball. "He's athletic and thin and bouncy like that. He plays harder than Moiso."
