Sleeper Guard Still Available

Lashard Anderson didn't get seen by a lot of schools this past summer, but he's one of the better uncommitted point guards in the west. While a few schools have shown preliminary interest, his recruitment has been somewhat slow to this point...

Lashard Anderson, 5-10 SR PG San Diego (Calif.) Serra, is a talented prospect who is currently being under-recruited.

We spoke with Anderson's father recently and he told us that while Lashard is hearing from such schools as Army, Santa Clara, Long Beach State, UC Irvine and Cal Poly, his recruitment has been somewhat slow. Anderson doesn't have any official visits or in-home visits scheduled.

We asked Anderson what his son is looking for in a school.

"I'd like him to stay on the West Coast," said Anderson. "His support system is here and it would be good if we could go to some of his games. We're looking for a good institution that is academically sound. That's the main thing."

My advice for low to mid majors looking for a point guard – go see Anderson. Yes, he's not real tall and he's a bit slight. But unlike some of the bad guards out there I've seen getting scholarships, this kid knows how to play. He's a pure point who makes good decisions and he's got some quickness.

Anderson told us his son has a 3.0 GPA.
