No. 98 Stewart Trims It To A Pair

Don't look now but A.J. Stewart has trimmed his list to a pair of schools. With two official visits on the horizon, the recruitment of another Top 100 prospect enters the final stages.

Sorry Clemson and Kansas State but A.J. Stewart only has room for a pair of schools.

The 6-foot-7 ½ power forward out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Arlington Country Day who occupies the No. 98 slot in's recent Top 100, has tunnel vision.

"He's narrowed it down to Illinois and Kentucky," ACD head coach Rex Morgan said. "Those are two pretty good schools.

"I think after the visits he'll be able to make his decision and he's definitely signing early."

The Illini get first crack at Stewart as he's coming to campus this weekend for a visit. Big Blue requested the Midnight Madness slot for Stewart and he's slated to see those festivities in Lexington the following weekend.

Morgan says a new offense that is being installed at ACD seems to fit Stewart fine and his senior is coming along nicely. "He's really getting better. He's running the floor and he's playing harder and is more consistent. He's kind of taken over the leadership (role) early. He's shooting the ball better too."
