Paterson Catholic guard Marquis Webb is closing in on a decision. On Wednesday, he said that he was down to three schools and has a leader.

Villanova Leads, GT Gets Visit

There's a lot going on in Marquis Webb's world. The 6-3 Paterson Catholic guard and standout with the Tim Thomas Playaz says he's close to making a decision. "Probably in the next week," Webb said on Wednesday.

The water cooler projections had Webb penciled in as a Georgia Tech commitment earlier this week. However, that rumor couldn't be more wrong or at least it's not right.

When asked on Wednesday who his leader was, Webb's answer was quite interesting. "Villanova. They've been recruiting me for a long time. I've known [assistant] Fred Hill since I was a freshman." Webb said that it's a three-horse race between the Wildcats, Yellow Jackets and Rutgers.

Now, here's where it gets interesting, at least if you're a Georgia Tech fan. This weekend, Webb is headed down to Atlanta for an unofficial visit. "They offered me a scholarship after Hawaii," Webb said. As for the rumor he committed to Tech? "Everyone just assumed that."

So, there you have it. The situation reads like this: Villanova leads according to Webb. Georgia Tech was the rumored leader but not in Webb's words and he's visiting Tech this weekend.

Folks, this one is going to get interesting.
