West Coast 2008 Rankings: Centers

The West Coast 2008 crop of centers has a number of propsects who could eventually become impact players at the college level. The top-rated center is already receiving offers from several high profile programs...

The 2008 West Coast class of centers is a decent group at this time.
As is often the case with young bigs, most of them have not yet really developed as prospects heading into their junior year. But there is some potential with the group. Gordon is listed by many as a power forward and he may ultimately end up at the four in college. However, as of now, he's a five man in terms of his skill level. He's an extremely explosive athlete who plays with very good energy at both ends of the court. Garibay has a great frame and a nice touch out to about seventeen feet. He also moves well for his size and he has considerable potential. Where he needs to improve, though, is in the areas of focus and intensity. If he commits himself to the game, Garibay has a chance to be one of the top players in his class. Poling is going to eventually be a good low-post scoring option. He's got a nice feel for the game and will be a very solid college player when he adds weight and strength. Withey moves well for a young big man and he's a good athlete. His intensity and focus are sometimes inconsistent, but he too has a nice upside. Rohde was hurt this past summer, but showed decent skill level when we saw him last year.
