Swansey Wants To Be A Dawg

Zac Swansey's high school career isn't over. He's got himself a pair of state titles and he's chasing a third. Recently he picked a college that's pretty close to home.

The Georgia Bulldogs received a verbal commitment from point guard Zac Swansey of Dunwoody High this week.

The senior averaged 18.5 points a game last season as his team captured its second state title.

"I've always dreamed of playing in the SEC," Swansey said. "Not only am I in the SEC but I'll be in my backyard. I couldn't pass it up and I felt like it was the right time to make that decision."

Swansey gathered steam with his recruitment this summer. Mississippi, Central Florida, St. Louis and the College of Charleston provided the competition for the Dawgs.

"Coach said that he expects me to come in and not necessarily play right away but I can come in and play some and maybe get a start by my sophomore year."
