Three Finalists For Lodwick

Abe Lodwick, a 6-6 senior small forward from Oregon, is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the west. He's taken visits to a Pac-10 program, as well as a WCC program. He's headed to a Mountain West school this weeekend...

Abe Lodwick, 6-6 SR SF Bend (Ore.) Mountain View, is one of the best-kept secrets in the class of 2007. A very skilled lefty, Lodwick has a great feel for the game and he's an underrated athlete. He didn't get a lot of exposure on the AAU circuit, but we expect him to be a terrific player at the next level.

We spoke with Lodwick recently and he told us that he has three finalists in his recruitment.

"I went to Washington State last weekend, Santa Clara three weekends ago and I'm leaving for New Mexico tomorrow," said Lodwick.

We asked Lodwick about his trip to Washington State.

"It was great – I enjoyed my time there," said Lodwick. "They have a good, young staff. They're down to earth guys who really know the game. The players are a good group of guys also. I like the level that the program plays at, in the Pac-10, against good competition."

When questioned about his trip to Santa Clara, Lodwick replied, "I really enjoy my time there. I liked the players and coaches. They have great academics there as well as athletics and that's important."

We asked Lodwick what he is looking for in a school.

"I want to go someplace where I can be a part of their success," said Lodwick. "I want to be able to play and contribute. I'm not looking for anyone to give me minutes – you have to earn your time – but I want to be in a situation where I can contribute."

We asked Lodwick if he thinks he'll be ready to make a decision shortly after his New Mexico trip this weekend.

"I'll probably take a couple days and let it sink in," said Lodwick. "I'll give it time to marinate and take some time to think about it. But I won't be dragging it out long – it will be sometime pretty soon after the trip."
