The 6-foot-8, 240-pound senior big man has already taken a trio of official visits in recent weeks. First came a trip to Wichita State, then to Kentucky and this past weekend he took the near-two hour drive to Athens and took a close look at Dennis Felton's Georgia program.
This coming weekend he'll head to Oklahoma.
``I want to find somewhere that provides me with the best combination of academics and basketball," Barnes said.
Barnes was impressed with the talent level at Wichita State, especially the backcourt. The tradition sticks out at Kentucky while proximity is the most attractive factor regarding Georgia.
``It's a tough situation to try and pick a school," Barnes said.
Barnes is a power guy in the paint who still needs to learn to play hard all the time. He put up 20 points and 10 boards last season.
``There is no leader right now," Barnes said. ``I will make a decision by Oct. 19. That's our homecoming."
