Charleston Lands Juco Guard

It's going to be a nice weekend in Charleston. Well, it's always a nice weekend in Charleston but the point is, it's a little better for the hoops team. On Friday, Tom Herrion (left) received a nice commitment from a guard.

Charleston Lands Juco Standout

David Truesdale, a 6-3 shooting guard from Dodge City Junior College committed to Tom Herrion and the College of Charleston on Friday. Truesdale is originally from North Carolina.

He played his high school basketball at Charlotte Garinger.

Larry Dixon, his high school coach, thinks the Cougars got themselves a steal.

When asked how good Truesdale is, Dixon beamed. "Real, real good. I think he could play in the ACC easy. Just nobody knows about him."

Dixon said that Truesdale's changed a lot since high school. "He's matured and now he's got a chance academically."

Charleston beat out New Mexico, UNC-Wilmington, Winthrop and South Alabama for his services.
