Abrams Finds C-USA Home

Jamar Abrams, one of the top players in Richmond, is headed to play in Conference USA. Abrams made his decision after visiting a campus last weekend.

The East Carolina Pirates snuck into Richmond and came away with a standout shooting guard. Jamar Abrams, a 6-foot-5 perimeter player known for his stroke, committed to the Pirates after looking at George Mason and a throng of regional programs.

"After I took my visit this past weekend I felt like ECU was the right place and it just so happened Mason called and said they got a guy," Abrams said of his pledge.

Last year as a junior at Highland Springs, Abrams put up 14.7 points per game. He attended the NBA Players Camp and ran with Richmond Metro.

Abrams took a liking to the atmosphere down in Greenville and Ricky Stokes' bunch locked him down.

"I would say it was the togetherness that the coaches and teammates have. I think they're going to go big things there at ECU and I'd like to be a part of that."
