For those of you who didn't know, Paris is no longer committed to Southern Cal. "It happened about a week ago," Paris said of the de-commitment.
"I didn't feel comfortable with the whole (point guard) situation and I caught it at an early time so I wouldn't have to transfer. It all happens for a reason."
Enter Boston College.
While in Houston evaluating junior forward Steve Tchiengang, the Eagles learned of the Paris de-commitment, liked what they saw in the big point guard and moved swiftly.
Paris was in the crowd when B.C. handled Virginia Tech Thursday night and he was on the phone with Scout.com Friday evening relaying his commitment to the ACC power. In fact, he's now the 5th recruit in B.C.'s current class.
"I love it. They've got a great class coming in and I love Coach Skinner; the whole staff is great and I'm going to have a great time with the players.'
Through the process of committing to USC and then backing off before pledging to the Eagles, Paris learned quite a bit about the collegiate recruiting process and making a long term decision.
"You have to think things through and don't rush into things. You have to make sure you go to the right place where you can be successful."
