Les Is More In 2008

The Bradley Braves got a jump on the Class of 2008 and locked down the first commitment from the state of Michigan.

The Bradley Braves are getting it done on a lot of fronts. Last month they landed 6-foot-10 Anthony Thompson of Houston (Tex.) Klein Forest and now Jim Les is working on the Class of 2008.

Daniel West, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Saginaw (Mich.) High is headed to Bradley after receiving offers from Western Michigan and Central Michigan. Wichita State and Nevada were interested too.

" He's the first player in the state of Michigan in the Class of 2008 that's committed," Saginaw coach Lou Dawkins said. "Bradley's getting a steal."

Last season as a sophomore, West came off the bench for his high school team. The AAU circuit provided him with a chance to gain exposure and eventually translated into early offers.

"He loves to pass the basketball. I call him a floor general. His handles are very unique – he handles it like its on a yo-yo. He played with the 16 and under Michigan Mustangs this past year. He can flat play."
