Hopson Ends Recruitment

Coming off a big time performance at the TN Prep Showcase, Scott Hopson has decided to end his recruitment. The 6-6, 190-pound junior will play in the Southeastern Conference.

"I just committed to Mississippi State," Scotty Hopson said Monday evening."I thought it was the best fit for me to go to Mississippi State. I just thought it was a good opportunity and I think I can accomplish my goals there."

Hopson hasn't been to MSU recently, but hopes to take a visit to Starkville soon. Scout.com's 32nd ranked player in the 2008 class said Coach Rick Stansbury put in the most time and showed him the most love.

"Mississppi State was one of the first schools to ever see me. They've been recruiting me since the beginning of my sophomore year. They have been coming after me very hard, more than any other school."

Hopson said he wanted to stay loyal to a school that was loyal him.

"We have always been talking," Hopson said of his relationship with Stanbury. "They've really been committed to me pretty hard and have shown interest in me. I thought they were the most committed school to me and I like them."

He picked the Bulldogs over Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana.
