Eddie Griffin Challenge Preview

One of the fall centerpieces is the annual Eddie Griffin Challenge. The boys from Philly lace them up against the crew from Jersey Saturday afternoon.

Beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Newark (N.J.) St. Benedict's, over 60 of the finest players from the New Jersey-Philadelphia corridor will lace them up in an annual tussle for area bragging rights.

The Eddie Griffin Challenge features players from the current sophomore thru senior classes. There's plenty of talent on both sides. Senior Corey Stokes and sophomore Dexter Strickland have star power.

On the Philly side, the Syracuse contingent of Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson will have their work cut out for them. A myriad of underclassmen including forward Nasir Robinson and wing Dalton Pepper rep the Philly area.

Since its inception this event has been the backdrop for numerous standout performances. Guys like Brian Zoubek and Wayne Ellington have turned in strong performances in years past!
