Hailey Is Big East Bound

Steve Hailey is going to play his college basketball in the Big East. On Tuesday, his high school coach checked in with the news.

Boston College Lands Local Standout

Steve Hailey is a Boston kid. Now, he's a Boston College basketball player too.

On Tuesday, the Worcester Academy standout and three-year starter, committed to Boston College, according to his head coach Mo Cassara.

Hailey considered Clemson, Providence and Memphis. He had an official visit scheduled for Clemson but that's no longer going to happen.

"Next year I'm going to hand him the ball and let him play the point," Cassara said. "[BC will] lose Troy Bell and they need someone to come in and play significant minutes at the point. He's thrilled."

Like we said earlier, Hailey is a 3-year starter for Cassara. Last year, he averaged 14 points and 5.5 assists. He played at the Nike All-American Camp this summer and was part of BABC's run to the AAU Nationals final four this year.
