ECU Gets No. 4 On Board

The East Carolina Pirates are in business in the Class of 2007. On Monday, the Pirates secured their 4th commitment from the Class of 2007.

Ricky Stokes went 45 minutes down the road from campus and locked down Goldsboro (N.C.) High power forward Daquan Joyner.

The Pirates simply worked harder than anyone and got it done. "They showed more interest," Joyner said. "They came out to check up on me and called me. They pretty much visited more than anyone else and showed way more interest. When I went up to the school I thought it was a nice school with a nice facility and this is where I know I want to be."

Last season Joyner put up 19 points and 13.4 rebounds a game at Goldsboro. He received interest from UNC-Wilmington, Richmond and George Mason. He'll take his official visit this weekend to ECU.

"They were there for me. They checked on my test score, cared about my mom. They must really want me if they're doing all this."
