Enrico Tucker, a rising junior at the University of San Diego High School has accepted a basketball scholarship to attend the University of San Diego
beginning in the 2004-2005 school year.

Tucker, a 6-00 point guard, was a 1st Team All-Western League selection last year and is a 2-year varsity starter.  This past season, he averaged 18.2 points
and 6 assists per game for USDHS.  In Tucker's freshman year, he was chosen the San Diego Newcomer of the Year by the San Diego Union-Tribune while leading
the Bishop's School to the Division 4 CIF San Diego Section Championship.

"The situation is perfect," Tucker said.  "I could start as a freshman and I want to be a part of building something special here in San Diego.  Coach Holland attended every game I played during July from outdoors in New Jersey, to Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  Coach Holland told me I was the cornerstone of what they are going to accomplish at USD, and that he would stop recruiting any point guards in the 2003 class if I was coming in 2004."

As a two-sport athlete, Tucker rushed for over 1700 yards on the gridiron this past year, and was also selected to the All-State Sophomore Team by Cal-Hi Sports.  Tucker, now becomes the first member of the Southern California Basketball Class of 2004 to commit to a college.

This past summer, Tucker, was selected to the Top 25 All-Star Game at the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp, and he was also chosen an All-Star at the Eastern
Invitational Camp in New Jersey.  Tucker carries a 3.2 overall G.P.A. and has yet to take the SAT's.  He will sign a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of San Diego during the early signing period in November, 2003.
