Johnson Visits A-10 Program

There's already one member of the Jacksonville Lee Bulls organization at Dayton. Last weekend, a potential 2008 recruit was on campus catching up with a friend and seeing what the Flyers have to offer.

Shaquille Johnson, a combo guard out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Lee, visited the Dayton Flyers unofficially last weekend. The 2008 standout is beginning to attract offers and Dayton is one of the school that has been aggressive in their pursuit.

Johnson's AAU team, the Jacksonville Lee Bulls, produced London Warren, a current freshman for the Flyers so there's a connection there.

"It was fun. I enjoyed the visit up there," Johnson told Scout.com. "I got along well with the coaches and the players. I enjoyed the campus life and I feel like I can fit in perfectly with them. I know when it comes down to decision time they'll be up there with the top schools."

Thus far, in addition to a plethora of schools that have him on their watch list, Johnson has his share of offers. Missouri, Ole Miss, Jacksonville, Virginia Tech and Florida State are among the programs Johnson feels have offered.

With the season looming, Johnson won't be able to do much visiting and that impacts his timetable for a decision. "I want to visit the schools before I make a decision."

After his most recent trip to the A-10 Flyers, Johnson knows Brian Gregory's program will be in the mix. "They're recruiting me harder than everybody else. They're the only one that talked to my mom, my dad and my grandma. They stay in contact with the people that are helping me make my decision."
