Charleston Lands No. 2

On Tuesday night, Jeff Horowitz ended his recruitment and made a decision. He's going to play in the Southern Conference.

Charleston Lands Another Prospect

Tom Herrion is on a roll. On Tuesday, he received his second commitment from a member of the Class of 2003 in the last week. Previously, junior college guard David Truesdale opted for the Cougars.

Jeff Horowitz, a center/power forward from Charlotte South Mecklenburg, picked the College of Charleston.

"The coaching staff was unbelievable," Horowitz said. "They were at everything I went to. They're very enthusiastic. Coach Johnson was always calling or emailing me or sending letters. He was on top of everything and Coach Herrion really put 100% in me. They just really made me feel wanted."

Horowitz's father played collegiately at Davidson. "He's been a lot of help, especially in the younger stages," Jeff said of his father. "He definitely lets his mind be known. Much to my chagrin, a lot of it is true. He gives me advice which is always appreciated."

Last year, Horowitz averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks. "[Charleston's staff] are looking for me to play as a power forward. Whatever they need from me for us to win, that's what I'll do."
