That means he'll have visited Maryland, New Mexico State and Oklahoma officially and he's been to Pittsburgh unofficially a few times. Memphis is a school that has been linked with Pope recently but the forward indicated talks with the Tigers have not been regular.
In all probability, the signing day will come and pass without a signature from Pope. "I think you have a few days," Pope said, leaving open the chance of signing later in the fall period.
Last weekend, Pope was at OU with Jai Lucas, another Scout.com Top 50 player. Pope, ranked No. 17 by Scout.com, enjoyed what the Sooners had to offer.
"It's a good situation for me to come in and show everybody (what I can do)," Pope said.
The forward learned about Jeff Capel through a friend. "I like the way he plays. Nick George went to Montrose Christian so I watched VCU quite a bit."
And so the saga continues. Pope's got a plane ticket and an adventure scheduled this weekend for Austin where the Longhorns are looking to add another piece to a national Top 20 caliber recruiting class.
