Eshaunte Jones Ready to Decide

Eshaunte Jones, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound senior guard out of Fort Wayne Northside (Ind.), will announce his decision on Thursday. However, unlike most of his peers in the Class of 2007, Jones won't head to college next fall.

Eshaunte Jones plans to make his college decision this Thursday at a news conference, but the Fort Wayne Northside (Ind.) High senior guard won't be heading to college next fall with all the other signees.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound Jones will instead head to a prep school so he can get his academics in order and try to add some weight to his slender frame.

``I'm re-classifying to '08," Jones said.

Jones said that he will choose from Indiana and Kentucky on Thursday. Missouri and Cincinnati were also in the mix, although the Hoosiers and Wildcats are clearly the two leaders.

``The most important things for me when I decided was the style of play, the coaching staff and the playing time," Jones said. "I want to go to the place where the coach will be able to make me the best player."

Jones said the most difficult thing for him has been to gain weight.

``I'm trying, but it's tough," he said. "I can't gain it for nothing."

``That's what I'm working on the most," Jones added. "That and continuing to work on getting my teammates better."
