Keenan Ellis Follows Heart

Keenan Ellis knew where he wanted to go a year ago, but the 7-foot Indiana native had to re-evaluate after a coaching change. Now Ellis is at American Christian (Pa.) and he's made his decision on where he'll go to college.

It didn't really matter where Mike Davis wound up. That's where Keenan Ellis was going.

The long 7-foot, 215-pound Indianapolis native, who is spending the season at American Christian (Pa.), committed to UAB and plans to sign this week.

``The bottom line is that Coach (Mike) Davis and Coach (Donnie) Marsh have been there since day one," American Christian coach Tony Bergeron said. "If they had still been at Indiana, that's where he would have gone."

``They're getting the steal of the fall," Bergeron added. "He's been an animal out there and is a warrior."

``He's cerebral," he continued. "Another major thing is Keenan's so versatile. At 7-feet, we can play him at small forward. He's making shots and is probably second on our team in assists so far in the preseason."
