Busy Times At Hargrave

Want to know who the busiest prep coach in the county is? That one is easy: Kevin Keatts.

The Hargrave Military coach has three top available prospects. Eric Wallace, Jordan Crawford and Mike Scott have not made decisions and everybody wants to know what's going on.

Late Tuesday night, a media outlet in Ohio reported that Wallace had pledged to the Buckeyes. "No decision has been made on Eric Wallace right now," Keatts said.

Keatts said the Buckeyes are in the chase. "Ohio State is at the top of his list. He could sign with them in the next day or so but he has not made a commitment to anybody at this point."

Onto Crawford, one of Scout.com's Top 25 post grad prospects.

"He could sign early with Xavier or Indiana or sign late," Keatts said. Should Crawford elect to wait, North Carolina State and Tennessee would be in line for official visits.

Still, we don't anticipate a signing day decision out of the Detroit native. "That doesn't mean he won't sign in this period but he's not going to sign today," Keatts said.

Mike Scott's future is also hanging in the balance. A year ago, he was property of the Temple Owls. Now he's an ACC hot commodity.

""I just think he and his family want to wait late and look at a few more options before he makes a decision. I think they felt like he rushed into the Temple situation last year."

Scott, according to Keatts, is very likely to be a late signee.

On a different note, Hargrave will have a handful of kids actually pen their letters today.

  • Jeffrey Allen, No. 1 post grad prospect, to Virginia Tech
  • Dorenzo Hudson, No. 51, to Virginia Tech.
  • Jeremy Jacobs, Top 25 post grad, to Georgia
  • Warren Edney to Fairfield
  • Noah States to Furman
  • Nathan Campbell to Liberty

"I think next week could be a little bit challenging but it's a good problem to have," Keatts said. "The good thing about the period is that it goes from the 8th to the 15th and some of these kids just haven't made up their mind yet. If they aren't comfortable they'll sign late."
