Stoneridge Forward Makes Decision

Ibrahima Thomas is 7-feet and has only been playing basketball for five years. That's what made the skilled forward from Senegal so appealing to numerous college coaches - including one Big 12 head man who got a commitment from the Stoneridge Prep (Calif.) senior.

Ibrahima Thomas is a big man with skill. That makes him even more attractive than usual this time of year.

The 7-foot, 215-pound Stoneridge Prep (Calif.) senior forward, who hails from Senegal, committed and will sign with Oklahoma State.

``He's a seven-footer who started playing basketball five years ago," Stoneridge coach Babacar Sy said. "He's got an amazing set of skills. He's a 7-footer with guard skills. He shoots it well, passes it and has a high basketball IQ."

``That's what really stands out about Ibrahima," he added. "He understands the game."

There's no question that Thomas needs to get stronger, but there were other high-majors in the mix. Thomas just returned from Auburn and also considered Rutgers.

``He always wanted to go somewhere with great tradition," Sy said. "He wanted to go to a high-major program where basketball was important. He liked the campus and the staff at Oklahoma State."
