The speculation began in the summer that Scout.com's top-ranked player in the Class of 2007 was headed to USC. In fact, Mayo even told Scout.com at ABCD Camp he was going to commit and sign with the Trojans. Well, his recruitment is finally over. Check out where he's headed.
It's official. The top-ranked player in the country is officially headed to USC
According to a source close to the situation, guard O.J. Mayo signed a national letter-of-intent and the Trojans received it via fax this afternoon.
Mayo, who transferred from North College Hill (Ohio) to Huntington High (West Va.), also considered Kansas State – where he would have played with his former high school and summer teammate, Bill Walker.
However, Trojans assistant coach Bob Cantu and head man Tim Floyd have been aggressive in their pursuit of Mayo.
Mayo joins Davon Jefferson, who signed on Monday, and a pair of Louisiana natives - Leonard Washington and Marcus Simmons – to give USC one of the top classes in the country.
