C-USA Program Has Early Edge

One Conference USA school has a slight lead for Fayetteville (NC) 71st point guard Casey Long. The Louisiana native kicks off his visits in September.

Tulane Has Slight Edge

Casey Long has himself a lengthy list of schools from a variety of different leagues.

He's got a planned visit to Tulane (Sept. 7) and the College of Charleston, UNC-Asheville, UT-Chattanooga and West Virginia are coming for in-homes. "There are some more but we haven't settled down on any visits," Long said. "They've been calling but they are just waiting on me to give them a date."

Among those programs are East Carolina, Wilmington, Western Carolina, Florida Atlantic and Virginia Commonwealth.

"As of right now, those are pretty much the people," Long said. "I would say Tulane has a slight lead. They've been really, really recruiting me pretty hard. It's a good situation."

Long won't let the recruiting process drag on for too long. "I plan on committing by October."
